Rosemarie's Buns & Brews: Reviews & Ratings

Flavor: A+ Service: A Tea: F Solo dining: A Rosemarie’s is pronounced Rosemary’s if the guy answering the phone knew what he was doing, but I like to think it’s rohz-muh-rees because that’s more unique and endearing. It’s a two-location tiny burger spot that specializes in sliders. As a lover of variety, this is like a burger heyday because I get to try not one but two burgers! Now don’t be fooled… these “sliders” could probably slide right in with a smaller traditional burger… because they’re large for a slider. I got the Rosiemac and the Little Sal and both were delicious. Clearly they are starting with a good product so any of their creative combinations are going to be good. The Little Sal was my favorite with its onion confit and bacon whiskey sauce - it’s like the royalty of flavors were having a party and thank goodness I was invited. The onion rings and dipping sauce were also great aspects to the party. If you’re not a beer drinker (this seems to keep haunting me) the drink selection is limited. But it was the perfect excuse for a Mexican Coke which paired better than any brew in my opinion. Cheers to Rosemarie’s for taking sliders to the next level with their innovative delicious creations that start with a flavorful, juicy burger! #theburgertrail #burgerreview #restaurantreview #bestburger

OMG! If you're in OB Rosemarie's is a must. The food was so delicious and I even had a chance to meet the owner Nick who was so down to earth. I wish I could've tried more of the menu but next visit for sure. The wings with a blue cheese sauce really stole the show.

Great place to grab high quality burgers. I say burgers instead of slider because each one is 4oz and is plenty especially if you add some killer wings or loaded fries. The cocktails are really great too. Met the owners and they’re really down to earth guys looking to serve tasty quality food at a reasonable price. A great gem for Ocean Beach!

Arrived and was greeted by the employee behind the counter. I wasn't sure what I wanted, was told I could have a seat, look at the menu and let him know when I'm ready. he also explained the menu and the markings on the menu next to the items indicating the most popular items. The sliders are perfect size for sampling and you can try more than one item. They have burgers, chicken, crab and fish. the double burger and the softshell crab were fantastic. I packed up the other sliders for dinner.

Wow! We had eaten at Rosemaries Food Truck a few years ago and it was great. On the recommendation from our daughter and son in law, who are obsessed with Rosemaries, we had to try this newer location, first time here and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! First, Mark was working, he was awesome. So excited to explain the menu options to us and so accommodating, just super happy and grateful to have our business. We ordered Kombucha and a beer, after being able to sample them, which is always nice. Mark suggested the Elote Fries, O.M.G! Amazing! We each ordered 2 sliders, hubs had 2 beef, Lil Sal and Luau, loved them both. I had Lil Sal and Lil Munchies chicken. I couldn’t finish the 2nd one, too full, but no problem, because my husband is a bottomless pit. While chatting with Mark, he found out we drive from Alpine to eat here, and insisted on giving us a dessert, the Churros with a healthy portion of vanilla ice cream, served with Mexican caramel, aka cajeta, and chocolate sauce, sooo good! Mark was so warm and friendly, we left hugging goodbye to our new friend. Do yourself a favor and try Rosemaries asap! They also just opened a new restaurant in Encinitas which will soon have live music! We will definitely be back!

Rosemarie’s Burger is an excellent spot that serves delicious and varied sliders with great quality — the meat, buns, and sauces are all on point. The menu offers plenty of options, and each slider has its own unique flavor and character. The service is average, not bad but could be a bit better, especially during busy times. The atmosphere is lively and noisy, even though the place isn’t crowded — probably because of kids or the background music. Overall, Rosemarie’s Burger is an excellent restaurant that’s definitely worth visiting again, especially if you love high-quality sliders and good flavors.

Sooooo good. At this point I’ve had almost every thing on the menu. Always get a Rosiemac and elote fries, but all the other sliders are phenomenal. My son loves the fish sandwich and my daughter loves the curry chicken. The owner is a sweet local family man who is never too busy to chat and is so enthusiastic about his food. This place is one of our families staples now. Well done!

We heard about this place from YouTubers who recommended their sliders. The restaurant is located in Ocean Beach on sunset Cliffs. It's mainly street parking. The restaurant is itself is very small but well decorated with only a few inside tables in the front and a few tables in the back sunroom. You order the counter and they bring your food to you after they give you a number. The staff was very friendly and gave us good recommendations. We went for a happy hour around 3 PM and the food came out fairly quickly as there were only a few other people there. The elote fries tasted just like it elote, but it was too salty. The onion rings were amazing! So crispy and fresh. The beef sliders were juicy, flavorful and had very unique flavor profiles. The fried chicken one was crispy and seasoned well. The beef sliders were a little bit too salty as well. Overall, we enjoyed our experience during happy hour, but don't come here for your health!

Nestled in the heart of San Diego’s Ocean Beach at 1774 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, Rosemarie’s Buns & Brews is a vibrant gem that elevates the humble slider to a culinary event. This cozy, two-location burger haven boasts a clever menu steeped in creativity and quality, where each slider packs the punch of a smaller traditional burger. From juicy beef and savory chicken to delicate crab and flavorful fish options, each bite delivers a memorable explosion of flavor.

The star of the show has to be their signature sliders—the Little Sal is a standout, with its luscious onion confit and smoky bacon whiskey sauce, a combination so harmonious it’s as if a royal feast is unfolding on your palate. The Rosiemac slider adds a comforting twist with its rich, cheesy depths. Paired with crisp onion rings and a tantalizing dipping sauce, the meal feels like a well-orchestrated celebration of textures and tastes.

While the name suggests a laid-back bun and brew experience, Rosemarie’s also caters to those who prefer non-alcoholic options, with Mexican Coke earning rave remarks as the perfect complement to their handcrafted flavors. The wings, especially when paired with an indulgent blue cheese sauce, are another highlight not to be missed—perfectly cooked, big on flavor, and a tempting addition to the slider lineup.

This genuine friendliness, coupled with a menu that invites exploration through sampling multiple sliders, makes it an exceptional spot for solo diners and groups alike. Their recent expansion into Encinitas with plans for live music only adds to the brand’s growing charm and community connection.

In essence, Rosemarie’s transforms simple ingredients into a bold, flavorful experience that’s both satisfying and inventive. For burger lovers seeking quality, variety, and a welcoming vibe, Rosemarie’s Buns & Brews is a must-visit destination in San Diego’s vibrant culinary scene.
